Common Questions
FAQ
- Is COYO dairy free?
- Absolutely yes. Our coconut yoghurt, frozen yoghurt and ice cream alternatives are produced in a coconut only facility on the Sunshine Coast of Australia making them 100% dairy free. We also have the Kosher (KA) certification which guarantees dairy free.
- Is COYO good for me?
- Yes it is! Made with nature’s superfood, the coconut; our products are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and are also a great source of medium-chain fatty acids which are easily digested, absorbed and put to use nourishing the body! Our products are also full of probiotics which help to restore the beneficial bacteria in the gut and aid digestion.
- Does COYO use any artificial colours, flavours or preservatives?
- No, we don’t use any of these ingredients in our yoghurt, ice creams or frozen yoghurt.
- Do you have sugar in your yoghurt?
- We use organic raw sugar from a Queensland supplier in our products. If you are looking for a low sugar option, we recommend checking out our Natural yoghurt flavour, which has no added sugar.
- Is COYO gluten free?
- Yes our yoghurt, ice creams and frozen yoghurts are all gluten free.

- How long will a tub of yoghurt last once I’ve opened it?
- This is going to depend on how well you treat it. It should last for 3-4 days normally but if you use common sense and don’t expose it to high temperatures on the bench for too long, and don’t double dip, then you could get a few more days out of it.
- Can I bake with COYO yoghurt?
- Yes, there are many wonderful ways you can bake with COYO but just remember that all those wonderful probiotics will not survive heating above 40 degrees.
- Can I freeze COYO yoghurt?
- Yes, COYO can be frozen but it will not be the same creamy texture when you thaw it. It’s still good for smoothies, yoghurt bark and raw sweet treats though.
- Is COYO Australian owned?
- COYO is 100% Australian owned and made on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
- I am interested in stocking/selling COYO. Who can I speak to?
- Our office can help you with these enquiries. Contact us on (07) 5472 8529 between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday or email sales@coyo.com.au
- Are COYO products probiotic?
- Yes. COYO is officially classified as a probiotic food and teaming with beneficial good bacteria, backed by clinical research.
- Can you tell me what are the exact species of probiotic strains in COYO products?
- Ahhh! Like any good chef we can’t reveal the secret of our probiotics. But if you promise not to tell anyone, I can reveal two special species to you only… Bifidobacterium lactis & Lactobacillus acidophilus, which are backed by clinical research to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria, maintain a balanced gut microbiota and promote regulation and enhancement of the immune system.
- So how many CFU’s per serve can I expect to find in COYO yoghurts?
- Well we can see you really know your probiotics. Great question!
As you know your probiotics so well, you will pleased to know we have measured our colony forming units the correct way and taken the count at the end of shelf life, not at time of packing which is a little bit sneaky. Our CFU count at end of shelf life for just two of our strains alone is over 1,000,000,000!
- How much COYO Coconut Yoghurt do I need to eat to get the benefit of probiotics?
- Every body is different and there is no one size fits all measure that we can give, but we can say that your gut microbiome is forever changing and you need to keep the beneficial microbes in balance by regularly consuming probiotic foods like COYO everyday. With a serving of probiotic COYO Coconut Yoghurt, you have scientific backing to know that over a billion beneficial bacteria will be able to make their way through your digestive system and make it alive into your gut so that you can receive their benefit.
